How goods leave Sialkot
Sialkot's businesses built their own trade infrastructure. The Sialkot Dry Port Trust was formed by local exporters in May 1984 and the dry port opened in 1986. Sialkot International Airport, built on a build, own and operate basis about 16 km west of the city, opened on November 30, 2007 as the first privately owned public international airport in South Asia. Local businesspeople later launched AirSial. The M-11 motorway links Sialkot to Lahore.
