What the numbers mean

Much of Pakistan's gem trade is informal, so official figures swing widely. Buyers at US gem shows want clear origin, honest treatment disclosure and consistent quality.

Where it is made

Most gemstones are mined in Gilgit-Baltistan, Swat and Chitral and traded in Peshawar and Islamabad. Quetta trades gems and minerals from Balochistan and Afghanistan.

Where it is sold

Rough and cut stones sell through gem markets in Thailand and Hong Kong and to buyers in China and the US. Across all products, the US bought $5.76 billion of goods from Pakistan in 2025, more than any other country.

A business partner, not a distributor

Many Pakistani gemstones makers sell through distributors and importers. That can be good business, and we can help you win distributors as buyers. But when a distributor stands between you and the market, your name rarely reaches the end buyer and much of the value stays abroad.

We work differently. We are your US office and sales team, working for you:

Distributor versus partner
A distributorPak Export Partners
Who owns the goodsThe distributor buys your goods and owns themWe never own your goods
Whose name the buyer seesOften the distributor's brand, not yoursYour company and your brand
Who sets the resale priceThe distributor, with its own markupYou set your price. We add no markup
How they earnA margin on every unit they resellA monthly fee plus commission only on paid orders
Who keeps the buyer listThe distributorYou. Every buyer contact is in your monthly report

Because we do not buy your goods, we have no reason to push your price down. We win when you get paid.

US rules to know before you ship

  • US rules require honest descriptions of treatments, such as heating or filling.
  • Buyers of valuable stones expect a report from a recognized gem lab.
  • Children's jewelry has strict limits on lead and cadmium.
  • US Federal Trade Commission guides require sellers to disclose gem treatments, such as heating or filling, that affect value.

We are not a licensed customs broker or regulatory consultant. For work that needs a license, we coordinate licensed US partners and include them in your plan. See our US labeling guide and customs guide.

How we help

We work with gemstones makers and exporters anywhere in Pakistan, especially in Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad.

Common questions

Do US buyers want lab reports for gemstones?

For valuable stones, yes. A report from a recognized gem lab builds trust and supports your price.

Do I need to tell buyers if a stone is treated?

Yes. US rules require honest disclosure of treatments that affect value.

Do you buy gemstones from us and resell them?

No. We are not a distributor. We never own your goods. You sell directly to US buyers, and we earn a monthly fee plus commission only on paid orders.

Can you help us sell to US distributors?

Yes. Distributors are often good buyers. We find them, present your products and follow up, and you keep the relationship and set your price.
