What the numbers mean
Pakistan has huge marble and onyx reserves but exports very little. Mechanized mining has cut waste from about 85 percent to about 45 percent at 135 mines, which means bigger, better blocks for export.
Where it is made
Onyx comes mainly from Chagai in Balochistan, with marble from Khuzdar, Loralai and Lasbela. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, marble comes from Mardan, Buner, Malakand and Hazara. Processing and export are centered in Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi.
Where it is sold
Marble blocks sell to buyers in China, Korea and Italy. Onyx gifts, tiles and decor sell in the Gulf, Europe and the US. Across all products, the US bought $5.76 billion of goods from Pakistan in 2025, more than any other country.

- Stone is heavy. Freight often costs more than the stone. Always quote on a landed cost basis.
- Crates must be heat treated and stamped under ISPM 15.
- Every piece or crate must show the country of origin.
